Plant a Row for the Hungry

A note from Gina Pacheco:

A reminder about Plant a Row for the Hungry service project. Please donate any extra produce to any local food pantry (locations listed below). I'm hoping we can donate 100 lbs again this year. Weigh your produce and let me know me know the amount by calling, e-mail or telling me at our next meeting.

Heritage Prairie Farm Visit Cancelled

We had hoped to go on an outing to Heritage Prairie Farm for Wednesday Pizza Night on July 20th. However, I just got an e-mail that they have suspended Pizza Night until further notice, due to rebuilding of the patio area. So, unfortunately we will have to cancel for next week!

Wishing you happy and healthy gardening,

Cathy Hlohowskyj

DG Library Weeding Service Project

Let's pull together against bindweed!

As part of our service projects, members of the Downers Grove Organic Gardeners have agreed to weed around the Downers Grove Public Library. We'll meet at the south entrance of the library at 5 p.m. and work until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13. Please bring your own clean tools -- we don't want to spread disease from one location to another. Hand sanitizer for your tools and digits, leaf bags and water will be provided.

FYI to our clumsy members: Should you be injured while volunteering for the library, you will not be covered by library insurance, but rather by your own health insurance. Gardeners must be 18 years or older.

If it rains, weeding will be cancelled.
