Thanks to Ron and Vicki Nowicki for hosting about 30 of us at their home on June 11. Ron explained the design of their home, which includes passive solar heating and trees used as windbreaks. Vicki discussed how their backyard is a year-round home for wildflowers and other perennials as well as seasonal vegetable plantings. She also talked about the Liberty Garden movement. And we had some wonderful treats, including rhubarb cake and vegetables that rivaled candy with their sweet and delighful taste.View photos of our visit here (click on Slideshow for best viewing).
